Can I fix cracks in the basement foundation?

I just purchased 30 year old house, and the foundation has six cracks right from the top to the bottom. The cracks are about an 1/8 of an inch in diameter and all of the cracks leak water when it rains. Can I fix them myself or do I need a contractor?

Make sure your rain gutters are not clogged, and the drainage is away from your foundation- Patching the inside will only stop the leaks temporarily-the real issue is standing water around the foundation-remember, water is the most destructive force in nature!. Concrete breaks down and if you don't repair correctly leaks will continue.
