Can Dishwasher Be Plugged Into Outlet?

RenoPro Moe, can I plug my old dishwasher into a regular outlet?

I have seen quite a few outlet boxes with disposals plugged in, beneath the sink. In the event of a leak, not the best idea. The right way is to mount a sealable junction box and run a metal sheathed (armor cable) cord from the disposal to the junction box. From there, the use of regular house wire (NMB14/2 or NMB12/ with ground) from junction box to the breaker.
