Art-glass & Mosaic Wall Panels
In Carpets & Rugs - more than a month ago

"I walk into this room and I don't feel comfortable here", she says as we stand in the middle of a living room the size of my 2-bedroom apartment.  Rana is a repeat customer, who called me to find a simple solution to a barren wasteland.  One wall on the living room rises to a 17 ft tall ceiling, which is flanked by a 2nd floor kitchen and terrace.  The windows on the long wall were narrow and 13ft in height, leaving little space for normal pictures or prints.  There was also a fireplace and some limited wall area on either side of the room for possible accenting with something simple.

We opened the laptop and looked at some decorative stained glass and mosaic wall panels.  One is about 20" wide by 40" tall and is made of hand cut glass, foiled and framed in a metallic network.  Another example is the colorful swirl pattern mosaic, which is also very nice. Moasic Style She bought a Mosaic for over the fireplace and some other smaller, colorful art-glass pieces and placed single panels on wall sections that were just large enough for rectangular symmetry.  The singularity and brightness of the pieces worked out very nicely.  Not gaudy like dull prints with thick, antiqued frames.
