Drip Irrigation & Water Conservation
In Lawn & Garden - more than a month ago

A nice garden always pleases the senses. It takes a little time and effort, with some green thumb smarts. We know that they need sufficient water to stay healthy, especially in hot months. It's easy to turn on the sprinkler and let nature take it's course.

Unfortunately, much of it evaporates or is swept away by wind before it reaches the roots, where moisture is needed. Not to mention the fact that millions of gallons are being wasted by other people during lawn care months. In some areas, even the water table is effected and rationing enforced.

Drip irrigation provides moisture where it is needed and does so in a way that is both efficient and water conserving. Drip irrigation involves the use of a hose, called 'drip emitter lines', which emit small amounts of water through weep holes where you want it to be, at ground level. The result is a healthy garden utilizing a system that also conserves valuable water reserves. Drip irrigation kits can be purchased at your local lawn and garden supplier.
