Driveway

The practicality of the driveway is to provide a clean, hard surface for the family vehicle. In another sense, it is also an image which either compliments the property or perceptively drags it down.

With asphalt driveways potholes and cracks can be filled. In the case of cement drives, not as simple. One of the most common events is that an area of the cement caves in due to subsurface channels made by water drainage. A section of the drive has to be cut out by a contractor who knows how to use a gas powered cement saw. Then, that section would be poured after a fill of gravel and sand is laid and tamped.

If your cement drive or parking area is cracked or settled in several areas, you may want to have a contractor experienced in driveway installation break it out and repour. In this circumstance, there are enhancements that you should consider which will certainly compliment the appearance of your home and general landscape.

For instance, coloring can be added and molds utilized to give the definition of brick work. Also consider that you may want to widen the parking area or create a better approach vector to the garage. Build a better curve from the street so that you won't  have to turn the wheel so sharply when entering.  In addition,  be sure to consult the contractor about the proper thickness  of the cement pad.  Any  alteration in the design and width of the pad may mean an increase in the thickness or mix of the cement. It may also require the addition of metal reinforcement.
